Marketing Intern

The FHLB Des Moines Marketing Intern will play an integral role in expanding the Bank’s inbound and traditional member marketing efforts. This person will gain real-world, value-add experience through leading and assisting a variety of marketing initiatives.

• Interface with representatives from the mortgage, community investment and funding product lines to help develop various communications materials in the print and digital space.
• Collaborate with the sales team to develop a broad library of resources including presentations, leave-behinds and member tools.
• Assist with content marketing initiatives, across multiple platforms and formats to drive member activity:
o Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice and optimized for search
o Assist with populating an online content calendar by developing and curating content in multiple formats according to an established persona’s preferred communications channels
• Support the planning and marketing of the Bank’s educational events.

 Qualifications
•         Junior or senior working toward a Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing. Experience in technical or financial services writing a plus, but not required.
•         Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills; willingness to assist with (or potentially lead) case study interviews via phone.
•         Excellent project management skills including planning, organization, implementation and meeting deadlines.
•         Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, think critically and work independently.
•         Working Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress.

This is a full-time summer internship that begins in mid-May 2017 and has the potential to run through the end of the first semester, depending on the candidate’s class load and needs of the FHLB Des Moines Marketing Communications Department.

Communications Intern

The FHLB Des Moines Communications Intern will play an important role in supporting the Bank’s internal communications efforts. This person will gain extensive communications experience by leading and assisting with a variety of communication initiatives.

•         Responsible for content creation and copyediting for multiple audiences and communication channels, including print, web and social media.
•         Provide updates to the Bank’s WordPress intranet.
•         Assist in the creation and execution of communication plans.

 Qualifications:
•         Junior or senior working toward a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or public relations.
•         Strong writing skills are a requirement.
•         Excellent verbal communication skills.
•         Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Adobe Creative Suite.
•         Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro or other video editing software.
•         WordPress and video editing experience are a plus but not a requirement.

This paid internship is expected to run from mid-May through mid-August 2017.
